Alex Tung is a young Chinese-American with acute myeloid leukemia. He’s in his fourth and final round of chemotherapy.
“Finding a bone marrow match is Alex’s only hope. Please register to become a bone marrow donor.”
— Wakin Chau, Singer
Alex’s final round of chemotherapy will be on November 26th. Doctors say his chances for survival are slim if he doesn’t find a donor match before then.
Asian patients find a donor only about 40% of the time. In the US, approximately one person dies from blood cancer every 10 minutes.
By going to BeThe Match.org you can register to have a packet mailed to you. When it arrives, just follow the instructions on the packet, then swipe the inside of your cheeks with the provided cotton swab. After you have finished, please mail the packet back to the registry.
